Vicki's Thoughts

Welcome..... to "Inspirangels.com" I hope that special moments await you as you visit this little corner of the internet. It has always been a personal dream to create a series of drawings based on the theme of angels.
I received my degree, graduate degree, and further post graduate studies in art education and fine art, and taught art on the secondary level for several years. Upon moving to Pennsylvania, I went into the business world for many years, where my profession involved development and fundraising for numerous worthwhile community initiatives. Recently, I returned to my first love – artwork. I took the opportunity to revisit my dream, and engaged in the angel series.
Why angels? Because their appeal is universal. Angels are incorporated in every major religion. For those who may not follow an organized faith, angels can yet be thought of as "guardians," as "lucky," as "messengers," "harbingers," and as symbols of love, joy, inspiration, and that which is eternal. Many people are just drawn to them for the peace and beauty they convey.
Do I believe in angels? I believe that when we see a beautiful image, it strikes a chord within us. I believe in positive messages and being open to them. I believe in the principles of guardianship of all that is precious in each other, in our environment, and in ourselves. I feel we were meant to be joyful, that inspiration is all around us and within us, and that all is one and everlasting. For me, angels encompass and are the "embodiment" of these things.
A friend asked me if I really believe angels have wings. My answer was that we all may be able to gain greater understanding and awareness from images that we can recognize. We associate these images with that which exists within our own individual belief systems. Through the ages, angels have been revealed and portrayed in forms we are drawn to and can "connect" with. However, a sightless person can experience "angels."
Whatever your beliefs, I hope my pictures bring a smile your way and a moment of stillness and silence as you look at them. They have some messages they would like to share with you, but a gift lies in the special meaning that you bring to each one. Above all, as you visit the Gallery, ENJOY!
